Dear Members of the Loudoun County School Board, I am a homeowner in Loudoun Valley Estates. Over 13,000 homes sit in our broader community, representing $2.8 billion in assessed residential property value. That value did not happen by accident. Families chose this neighborhood because of the green space, the trails, the proximity to schools, and the character of a community built around shared open land. We have maintained and preserved that land for years. Sports teams practice on it. Kids walk to school through it. Families spend their evenings on the trails. This is where our community lives — and it is a significant part of what makes our homes worth what they are. We did not invest in this neighborhood — in our homes, in our land, in our community — for it to be destroyed to benefit private data center operators. Loudoun Valley Estates is donating Parcel L — nearly 13 acres of this green space — to Loudoun County Public Schools. This donation would permanently preserve the land under a conservation easement for educational, recreational, and open-space purposes. LVE retains maintenance responsibility.
